NBM Launches Direct Shipping Service to Asia

Bandar Seri Begawan, 2 February 2026 – NEXT Bahtera Maritime Sdn Bhd (NBM), a joint venture between Brunei’s Strategic Development Capital Fund (SDC Fund) and Network Cross Trade Line Limited (NEXT), has officially launched its regular direct shipping service connecting Brunei with major ports in China, South Korea, Indonesia, and the East Malaysia.

This milestone strengthens Brunei’s logistics industry by enhancing connectivity, improving service reliability, and supporting regional trade growth.

NBM’s vessel, MV NXT Genesis, has already delivered over 800 units of cargo since 2024 and continues to provide flexible, efficient transport for vehicles, machinery, construction materials, furniture, electrical products, and general goods.

Through this partnership, Brunei is better positioned to expand market access, improve supply chain resilience, and advance economic diversification in line with Wawasan Brunei 2035.
